The Lord has opened the door to the beautiful house I wanted! The one where I walked in and thought, “Ahh, this is the one!” God is so good to have provided us a nice place to live in a beautiful neighborhood.
It’s tough though, this grieving process of knowing in one week we will be living someplace else. Someone is coming to buy our dining table and chairs this afternoon and I’m already feeling sentimental about this table. This is where we have gathered together with family and friends, where I’ve written my book, posted on facebook, blogged and worked on various other writing projects. It’s the place where my kids have done homework, my daughter played Club Penguin, where piles of clutter have found themselves and where I’ve written out our bills every month. But we can’t take it with us.
I suppose the grieving will continue for a while, just as it did for the biological children I could not conceive. But I have to look to the future in a positive light, just as I did with our adoptions and think about all the good to come. Debts will get paid off, my children will go to a good school, I will live in a really pretty neighborhood overlooking marshland in my new home. I will meet new people. I will find a good job. I will have less house to clean. I will be working toward the publication of my book on infertility/adoption.
God’s Word says, “For I know the plans I have for you. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” I know He is true to His Word for He has already blessed us with so much here in this house where we’ve lived for thirteen years. I look forward to what He will do as we move forward.
