America, Land of Condemnation (Part Three)

(Part Three)

Cancel culture should be recognized as operating from an antichrist spirit. The Bible calls Satan ‘The accuser of the brethren’ and a deceiver. {Revelation 12:9-10} The devil also ‘prowls around like a roaring lion seeking whom it can devour,’ {1 Peter 5:8}

Where you find the Kingdom of God at work, there also you will find the devil at work to undermine God and His people, so cancel culture especially relishes pouncing Christians and Biblical views. Its demonic nature seeks to tear down the America founded on the gospel of mercy, grace, forgiveness and redemption with merciless, murderous, condemnation and a mockery of the wisdom of the cross. It fuels Satan’s three-fold mission to intimidate, manipulate and dominate.

You will find cancel culture negatively impacting the body of Christ. Christians who live lives with an active love for their brothers and sisters, family, friends and community, who run ministries, churches, do charity work, share testimonies and the gospel to lead people to Christ, can fall prey to questioning their witness in the face of cancel culture. When challenged by the Leftist mob that they are really about a false Christianity that offends certain segments of society, we have seen some rush to soothe the brute beast of cancel culture with apologies and promises to do better. But, attempting to redeem oneself with a demonic spirit is foolhardy. There is no right standing we should seek with cancel culture warriors, nor is there ever any forgiveness from them, so the Christian should not allow his or her conscience to be pricked by this never-satiated, condemning force. 1 John 3:19 discusses the angst-producing condition of an oversensitive conscience, one that cancel culture loves to exploit. To their delight they watch a child of God wrestle with their conscience in a display of public self-flagellation. Instead, conscience should be quieted in the knowledge that God Himself has declared active love evidence of right standing with Him and salvation.

‘This then is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence whenever our hearts condemn us. For God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.’ {1 John 3:19-20}

True justice is defined as ‘moral rightness.’ It is not the radical Left’s mangling of the word justice to mean taking what one man earns to give it to one who does not, or killing babies up to birth. Sinful humans without Christ live controlled by the spirits of pride, selfishness and prejudice, not the power of the Spirit of the Lord that reins in the wickedness of the heart, the impurity of thoughts and the destruction by the tongue that speaks death. There is no such thing as people made righteous and just through Progressive’s unjust condemnation, punishment and exile from the public square, only fearful, resentful and angry ones. Progressive cancel culture is at war with Christ’s gift of salvation and the Holy Spirit Whom the believer submits to in order to attain moral rightness that produces true justice in society:

‘Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, Because, through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life (controlling power of the Spirit) set me free from the law of sin and death.’ (the controlling power of sin which ultimately leads to death). {Romans 8:1-2}

The Creator of the Universe and everything in it, came not to condemn men but to save them. How hostile and blind to the power of the cross are mere mortals controlled by the spirit of antichrist to believe they are virtuous to cancel others out of existence!

It saddens and angers me both, to hear some of God’s people slip into mimicking the propagandizing and sin sanitizing language of Progressivism. Doing so assists Progressives’ efforts to control language, in order to control minds, in order to control behaviors. We should never call baby murder ‘choice,’ ‘healthcare’ or ‘reproductive justice.’ We should not acquiesce to the mantra that black lives matter. To Christ and His followers there are not any lives that do not matter, especially the thirty-million black lives snuffed out by abortion since Roe v. Wade.

‘There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him: …hands that shed innocent blood.’ {Proverbs 6:16-17}

The founders of the Marxist movement called Black Lives Matter are overt in their manipulation of society to destroy the traditional family, disparage Jews and shake down the immigrant-owned business to hire quotas of black employees. This is not a movement of racial justice, but intimidation and domination of one race over others. It is the antithesis of the Biblical teachings of how the Christian is to think and live.

It should be of concern that some Christians take a knee to the flag or preach that America is steeped in racism and oppression by white people. The white man brought the gospel to America. The white man founded a nation based on a covenant with the God of the Bible and framed a Constitution bathed in prayer fashioned after Godly, individual free will unlike any other. Seven-hundred-thousand white men died in the Civil War to free slaves. The cancel culture warriors do not wish to know that many blacks owned slaves in this nation or that in many nations they have an affinity for, there are currently eight-million human beings in slavery. In our prayers, pulpits and daily lives it is my hope that Christians will in one Spirit of unity engage in the battle against the antichrist spirits of hysterical, delusional condemnation infiltrating public discourse, policies, legislation and churches across America. They pose a grave threat to freedom to preach the gospel message and win souls to Christ.

To ignore unwise legislation being thrust upon us is to tacitly approve immoral behavior. I cannot exclude myself from those in the church who perhaps find it a regrettable sorrow to have been a bit lax about the devil’s foot in the door. ‘Rare and tragic abortion’ has opened a pandora’s box to zero restraints against shedding innocent blood—all the way up to infanticide at birth. The tens of millions of self-professing Christians have not shown up at Capitol Hill to oppose Democrats’ refusal one-hundred times, to take a vote on protections for babies born alive during the abortion procedure. Now we cannot with the Capitol having become a militarized zone under the current administration. When gay marriage became the law of the land, some Christians protested, but many have become accepting of the lifestyle. The fear of being labeled unloving homophobes by rejecting the evil foot in the door has allowed legislation in California to become the willful transmission of AIDS to be labeled a non-crime, sodomy of a ‘consenting’ minor by an adult pedophile acceptable and unpunished by the state.

Cancel culture has crept into churches across America. Pastors and preachers and teachers of the things of God are becoming more involved in social action versus gospel action, leading to increased apostacy. I cringe at those who call the slaughtering of the unborn God’s work, who teach Marxist Liberation theology, marry homosexuals, promote the Left’s climate change hysteria propaganda and pursue interfaith as a bridge for the church to coexist with other religions that reject the cross.

‘For certain men whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are godless men who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.’  {Jude 4}

The Wisdom of God created America. A people dedicated to His will offer themselves up to the authority of His Spirit rather than the spirit of ‘lawlessness,’ the sinful nature’s inclination to immoral and criminal behaviors. If only people understood that the discord that lawlessness creates crushes freedoms by giving government the justification to assert ever-increasing authoritarianism over people.

‘Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.’ {2 Corinthians 3:17} {NKJ}

Lawlessness is lovelessness. If you love your country as a representative of government, you would want the rule of law to be well established, and to do that, government must respect and encourage the influence of Judeo-Christianity to guide moral behavior to respect laws.

The Apostle Paul talks about the power of the gospel versus the laws of man. Laws are not without merit, but serve to highlight the life-changing gospel for transformed behavior because laws are ineffectual to stop sinful behaviors that lead to criminality.

‘For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering.’ {Romans 8:3}

Yielding to the Spirit produces the fruit of the Spirit which is love, peace, patience, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, kindness, joy and self-control. {Galatians 5} It is the only way to protect liberty and freedoms in a nation that peoples throughout the world have flocked to for hundreds of years to enjoy. The ongoing chant, ‘No justice, no peace’ really needs to be changed to what really matters, ‘No Jesus, no justice, no peace.’
