About Christine Rhyner

Hello friend, so glad you’re here! At this site you’ll find passion for the prolife cause and Right to Life advocacy. The prolife position is founded on the belief that all human life is sacred and possesses intrinsic value. This principle asserts that God creates a unique human life at the moment of conception and that life deserves legal and moral protection. Every individual, regardless of their stage of development, ability, or circumstance, has an undeniable right to exist and thrive. This view is also supported by scientific evidence which recognizes the continuous development of a new human organism from the earliest moments of life.

Yet my heart breaks for women who have had abortions. The ones who have been pressured into it, told by a doctor it was necessary, were raped, or saw no other course of action. That in itself is trauma. The suicide rate is significantly higher among women who have had abortions than among those who haven’t. “According to one study, women who have had abortions are nine times more likely to attempt suicide than women in the general population.” ProLife Answers to ProChoice Arguments by Randy Alcorn, Multnomah Books, 2000 page 194.

There’s no judgment here for women who have had abortions. God understands each individual’s heart. His grace and forgiveness are available to all who desire them.

I earned a BS in Communication/Journalism at SUNY, College at Brockport. But I discovered that Journalism did't fulfill me with the creative outlet I wanted, so I tried on a lot of work hats. I worked in advertising, managed a comedy club, did crisis counseling, waited tables at a café in the West Village, and later copy edited for a co-marketing firm in Connecticut. None of these experiences went to waste as a writer!

Faith, Family, and Adoption

In 1994 I accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. A few years later God gave me a helpmate and husband, John. I relocated to his native Long Island, New York, where I began to publish articles on infertility, bioethics, and adoption.

Three years later, God orchestrated an international adoption journey that enormously tested our faith, but blessed us with Lucas from Vietnam. Two years after that, Olivia from China joined our family. These experiences shaped both my writing and my calling.

Writing and Advocacy

I have published numerous articles and essays on topics ranging from reproductive technologies to my Christian faith. I also published How much did you pay for her? Forgiving the Words That Hurt Adoptive Families with CLC Publications after many difficult and often surprising questions posed to me about my children.

I took a period of time away from writing, during which God used hardship for growth and deeper faith. Through that season, I was led back to writing with a renewed sense of purpose and urgency to share truth, grace, and the message of the Gospel.

Purpose and Message

The extending of grace, understanding, and forgiveness through Jesus Christ to the world is more crucial than ever. My hope and prayer are that my writing plays a small part in planting seeds in those who are hurting, confused, or seeking truth, and in encouraging other Christians enduring what I have.
